Who is she?

I'm Cathy, your fairytale fanatic, your avid dream chaser who lives vicariously through all your happiest moments.

I'm a family and wedding photographer (also your hype woman!), once living in San Francisco but recently relocated to Sacramento. My journey in the city has been nothing short of incredible and I'm excited to see where new sights and locations the valley takes me on! Don't be discouraged though, I am more than ready and happy to drive back to the Bay Area to continue capturing its beauty along with you in it.

I'm passionate about what I do, but more importantly, passionate about you and your milestones. I'm here to help you celebrate LIFE. We live in a world where everything is fast moving. We don't have enough hours in the day to do the things we want to do. Photography allows me to slow down and focus on enjoying the present. It allows me to freeze the moment so that you'll have it forever. So when life is moving a little too fast for you, you can look back on these photos and remember to slow down, embrace the now, celebrate life a little more, and to enjoy the simple moments.

LET'S GET

Looking back, I realized I was always fascinated with cameras and photography. I loved taking close up photos and trying to create a blurry background. My uncle had a Canon DSLR to take family photos and I would always take it out and play with it and messing around with the buttons.

However, my love for this truly began when I moved to San Francisco. Being on my own for the first time, I wanted to document everything that the city had to offer. I realized quickly that empty landscapes weren't enough. I wanted to fill it with happy people and capture their emotions.

Aside from photography, I love food and exploring. Ice cream is the perfect pick-me-up on a bad day and tequila is great for what the ice cream can't fix. I tell people I'm outdoorsy but really I like to snuggle up on the couch with my dog, a cup of hot tea and some cookies. I do love a good road trip and trying out new coffee shops.

personal

my vision, my mission

My goal for our time together is to have fun! Being in front of the camera can be daunting. You start to be conscious of everything. But that's what I'm here for.

I will give you cues and guide you every step of the way. Some of my directions may sound a little nuts but that's all part of the beauty. I will take photos of the crazy faces you make because those photos tell a story and it'll remind you that it's okay to let loose. It'll feel awkward at first but don't worry! Trust the process and don't be afraid to laugh.

I'll send you all the information you need ahead of your session so that you're walking into it feeling confident and ready. To get you started, you can head over to either my Portraits or Weddings page for a breakdown of my process. Then slide on over to FAQs if you have lingering questions! Anything that you cannot find on those pages, you can just ask me.

5 things about Cathy

01/05

I love plants! At one point during the COVID lockdown, I became obsessed with plants. I looked up all nurseries within a 45 mile radius to find any unique plants and pots to buy. I even got into the rare ones and started buying them online! I purged a lot of them as the world opened back up but I still have many of the ones I bought a couple years ago.

5 things about Cathy

I'm a huge fan of tattoos! I usually get them due to a deep meaning or to mark a milestone in my life. However, I do have one that I absolutely adore and I got it on a whim! He's a little sheet ghost that I have on my ankle and he peeks out whenever I wear cropped leggings or shorts.

5 things about Cathy

I have a motorcycle license. Living in San Francisco, I was tired of the traffic and having to look or pay for parking. I ended up buying a used yellow Vespa and had so much fun scooting around without the stress of driving a car. I ended up selling her before I moved to Sacramento and I miss it dearly!

5 things about Cathy

My grandma is my hero. She helped my mom raise me while she went to school and worked. When I was younger, we would watch Wheel of Fortune together every single night. Now that I live in Sacramento, I'm fortunate enough to be able to visit her more frequently and keep up the tradition of watching Pat Sajak and Vanna White on tv.

5 things about Cathy

I love a good book. I grew up blazing through the Harry Potter series and re-reading them over and over again. I stopped reading after I got so busy with life and my work but I am determined to reach my goal of reading 30 books this year!
